Sprocket Cardboard Chair

Mar 06 2013, 12:30 pm 0 Fábio França

A chair made entirely of two ply corrugated cardboard sheets, for children, with a strong sense of user experience. Aimed for child´s between the ages of 5 and 10, that said, children can “play” with it, turning into a rather funny chair. We all know that kids have a strong imagination, and if you give them something that allows them to “unleash” their creativity we have a successful project. Designed by a group of students from RISD (Rhode Island School of Design), namely, Hala Khoursheed, Winston Cuevas, Elliot Ouchterlony and Michelle Lee. The structure allows to hold a maximum weight of 82 kilos, they were able to fabricate the chair in 3 days. According to the students the kids really like the chair, plus they did some trials testing the resistance of the chair, which has passed successfully.
