Today I’ll be talking about fashion, namely about the works of
Omar Ruiz, a Mexican Fashion Designer currently studying at Centro de Diseño de Modas in Guadalajara, Mexico. Upon seeing this collection I was amazed by the simplicity of the overall pieces shown, there are no excessive elements here, only the essential. The use of colours, like the black and the white grants the collection with a minimalistic feel. Although the simplicity of the pieces we can clearly see a thoughtful process of investigation and study behind those clothes. The collection focus on the life of German writer Christiane Vera Felscherinow and her fight against drugs. Looking at the clothes we see a progression, from darker materials to transparent garments, being a synonym of her telling the truth. Therefore being exposed, according to my opinion this is a magnificent work! Although Omar is just a student, he seems to have lots of potential, creating meaningful works. Looking forward to see his next works.
