The creations of the Helsinki based designer,
Sasu Kauppi, are characterized by an aesthetic that draws a lot from the world of streetwear. Garments with decidedly loose silhouettes, which combine sportswear and tailoring, all united by a rather rough, almost unfinished look. The fall/winter 2013 collection, immortalized in the lookbook by Jukka Ovaskainen, takes the name of “True Finlandian Blue Denim”, and as you can imagine, is a celebration of denim in all its forms. Very low crotch pants, oversize t-shirts with tribal prints, middle-length skirts with frayed edges, outerwears (such as jackets, bombers and maxi-sweaters) that seem to come straight from the 90s. A collection that lends itself perfectly to be worn by both men and women.
