Today we’re excited to share with you
One Thousand Ksoids, a whimsical project by New York designer Danil Krivoruchko. The artist chose a small set of creation rules, and was able to generate 1000 unique versions of the Ksoids. The Ksoid characters are colorful little alien-like creatures. Each manifestation is extremely tactile. Some feature bright fur bodies, while others look like they’re wrapped in an intricately woven textile. Most feature googly eyes, of course. The end result of these experiment feels like each Ksoid was made by the hand of a craftsperson, not a computer program. (The entire project was done using a visual programming environment called ICE in Autodesk Softimage). Krivoruchko’s very cheeky and sweet project disclaimer: “All Ksoids belong to my wife being a digital representation of her soul”.
