Dark and mysterious, unmistakably charming. I’m talking about the spring/summer 2013 collection by the brand obése.plein, founded in 2009 by Chinese designer Robert Lai. Minimal garments with a unisex look, unstructured and draped shapes, mixture of fluid materials with leather and vinyl and an obsessive attention to detail, from the zippers up to the futuristic footwear. Games of transparencies, overlaps and contrasts of materials and lengths for a collection that draws from the world of street style to blend with the haute couture, in a personal and unique style.
