Minki Cheng spring/summer 2014

The London based and Central Saint Martins graduate designer Minki Cheng founded his label MIMk in 2013. His style is original, edgy, with an eye to the individuality of the wearer and impeccable attention to detail. The spring/summer 2014 takes as its primary source of inspiration the comic books of the 70s, the garments are made with scraps of vintage t-shirts and pajamas, a detail that gives the whole collection a pop and fun touch. But it’s on the construction of the clothes that the designer demonstrates his talent: sculptural silhouette with a perfect fit, amazing tailoring and futuristic cuts able to create intriguing play of solids and voids on the body.
