I saw the wonderful clothes by designer Ju Yeon, creator of the brand
Machambre, for the first time at
Who’s Next in Paris. Days ago I received the press material on the new collection which I am happy to share with you. Following the footsteps of spring/summer 2013, Ju Yeon creates a series of garments with minimal, sculptural and structured shapes, characterized by the use of geometric patterns designed on purpose. A search that starts from the works of Rene Lalique, in particular his Art Deco perfume bottles, which are carefully analyzed for shape, color and material, getting to a stylized elaboration of the silhouettes, which results are two different geometric patterns that are repeated on clothes, accessories and shoes, all created for the collection by the designer, who cares every detail. The use of color is bold, although the palette is limited: white is the common thread, in a collection that begins with blue, developping in red and black.
