Today we show you “HangTable”, an unusual piece of furniture in suspension designed and built by the students and designers of the Victoria University of Wellington in New Zealand,
Ella Bates-Hermans, Abraham Hollingsworth,
Caitlin Pilcher and Zach Holmes. A solution with the dual functionality that combines in a single structure with an essential design, the characteristics of a table to those of a hanger. A system of pulleys and counterweights able to eliminate the need of legs and support elements, making the transformation from table to hanger and vice versa simple and fast. A space-saving solution that reverses the normal way of understanding the furniture, ideal for narrow surfaces like those of a studio apartment or the small spaces of the rooms of hotels and hostels.
