I love prefall collections, because they leave me always pleasantly surprised. In time of sales, when the spring-summer collections start to come out, I love to see previews of the next winter collections.
Carven‘s Prefall collection re-confirms the maison’s previous collection style. Oversize parkas and coats, big scarves used as ties, soft colors and retro prints characterize this amazing collection. The leather jackets have camber cuts on the sides in order to show what you are wearing under them. The same cuts are present on the A-line skirt where they show nude knees enclosed in high tights. A-line dresses have vintage prints that remind me a collage of Audrey Hepburn’s photo shots. Colors such as egg-blue, blue-green and eggplant are balanced with their opposites on vintage prints (the papyrus print which seems inspired from a wallpaper is amazing!) and used with a edgy outfits – for example the metallic leather jackets+skirts are elegant and original at the same time. This is an amazing collection that anticipates the newest trends that we will see the next winter season, mixing them together in an edgy and refined way without make them too overwhelming.
