Bookmark by Vittorio Ciccarelli

The works I’ve selected for you today are now of the collection “Bookmark”, a series of photographic compositions created and published through a double release by the Italian artist Vittorio Ciccarelli. A brilliant experiment which sees objects out of context (such as combs, blister packs for pills, slices of lemon, leaves, buttons, nuts and Airball film), cover and hide some distinctive traits of the characters portrayed in the paintings of the great masters of traditional and classic art. Original and creative artistic elaborations that, through a playful symbolism, seem willingly to examine the knowledge, aspirations, attitudes and emotions, in essence, all aspects that characterize the inner man, and that lie behind the outward appearance, at the real discovery of human nature.
