The Berlin based sisters Sabina and Madina Taschén founded the brand
Ame Soeur in 2008. The basic idea is to create clothes according to the working techniques and inspired by haute couture, while maintaining affordable prices and creating pieces to wear in everyday life. Based on theese considerations, they develop the concept of “One-Cut-Piece”, a term borrowed from film-making, where it indicates a video with a single cut. Similarly the One-Cut-Piece of Ame Soeur refers to a garment made from a single piece of fabric with a three-dimensional processing technique called “par moulage”. The spring/summer 2013 collection is characterized, as well as clothes construction, also by mirror prints, that create kaleidoscopic geometric patterns strategically repeated, resulting in an amazing visual effect.
