A dip in the dream of the ’50s. Red lipstick, butterfly shaped glasses, vintage dresses and a lot of rock and roll. On August 4 starts the thirteenth edition of the
Summer Jamboree in Senigallia, Italy. Eight days in the charming town of the province of Ancona, that will live and breathe the nostalgic fantasy of those years, so fascinating and so different from contemporarity. The nice organizers sent me, in detail, the music and show program of this festival so special. The time will be beated by 200 hours of free concerts along the streets, dj sets, guitar and burlesque workshops, the afterparty at the “Rotonda” by the sea, to get a little wild on the notes of jazzy jamboree. Unmissable Wednesday 8 with the hawaiian beach party, beginning at 16 to continue all night long. The burlesque shows have a totally new feel, with three international artists Deluxe and then the grand finale of the last night: the Rock ‘n’Roll show, with an orchestra of 22 elements. The rock and roll masters of this thirteenth edition are: Johnny Farina, undisputed king of steel guitar and author with his brother of the famous instrumental composition Sleepwalk, Freddy “Boom Boom” Cannon, Narvel Felts, Marshall Lyttle, bass player for Bill Haley’s Comets. Not just music though. Throughout the festival will keep company the biggest vintage market, the Rockin’Village, old style hairdressing (which I imagine will be very crowded), Dance Camp, Greg Gregory’s mobile tattoos studio, film screenings and three evenings the Planetarium, to discover the sky of ’54. Even a trip out of town, the famous and so called “trip to the castle” at the discovery of the region. All that remains is to wish everyone a good revelry!
