Vivacita spring/summer 2012

I haven’t received submissions for a while, and I haven’t seen a brand like this for a while. Vivacity, although the name didn’t excited me at first, is a label founded by Taiwanese designer Chia Jen Chang. Chia get passionate about the fashion world during his studies at the Istituto Marangoni in Milan. Back home, he decided to found Vivacità (at this point the reason for the Italian name is clear), which combines an Italian taste to a purely Oriental aesthetic, with amazing results. The spring/summer 2012 collection, his third so far, has androgynous pieces, characterized by asymmetries and overlapping layers of different tissues, as for the dresses. Surprising details capture the attention, like the suits that hide bare backs, the minimal minidresses with draperies that create geometric patterns in the back, or the funny loose pants, that taking a closer look reveal the shape of a sweater, with neck also! For now, the brand has four physical stores located between Taiwan and Australia, but are seeking new stockist, so if you are interested, just contact the friendly and helpful staff!
