Uma Wang is a young fashion designer, one of the most promising of her country, China. She studied at the China Textile University and then completed her studies at Central Saint Martins. After working for several Chinese labels for ten years, she founded her eponymous brand in 2005 in London. Her style combines fashion and functionality, and the hallmark of her creations is the use of different materials and textures to create simple garments that have strong personality and fine details. In the fall/winter 12-13 this feature is very clear: is the materials, rough-looking, almost worn out, to give further character to the clothes. Sculptural pieces, all round, made to be seen and able to surprise from any angle (for this reason, in the lookbook, that you can see in full on site, every item is photographed from the front, back and side). Particular attention is dedicated to knitwear, with soft shapes and coarse yarns, with an almost frayed appearance.
