Images are often able to capture the attention more than words. I, and perhaps fellow bloggers can confirm, sometimes let myself be persuaded to talk about this or that object if the images are particularly striking. This is in a sense one of those cases. Smith/Grey is a duo of jewelry craftsmen, founded by designer Birgit Marie Schmidt and creative Sofus Graae. The style of their creations is decidedly unusual, and in the photogallery you can see some examples: from women jewelry, reproducing series of horses, without being able to distinguish between a beginning and an end, to the collar stiffeners or men rings, with an almost raw style, but in fact studied in detail. But, back to the power of images, what struck me was the series of photographs showing their work tools, the soul of the strictly handmade Smith/Grey production, analyzing the different phases, from wax models to metal processing.
