Lego art for Qubic Tax

May 24 2012, 10:00 am 0 Marco Russo

In this historical period, to survive the economic crisis, many European countries, and not only, have to juggle between tax increases and implementation of new and unwanted taxes. The creatives of the English studio Acrylicize, a mix between a design firm and an artists collective, were commissioned by Qubic, a company specializing in providing tax solutions to clients throughout the UK, to design an art installation that had as main theme “taxes”. A work – made after a weekend spent between about 1200 Lego men, assembling yellow characters, mixing beards, hairstyles, clothing and objects – that, using humor and a lot of crazy creativity, explains and shows an incredible range of people: doctors, cooks, postmen, mechanics, sailors, workers and many others, all united by the duty to pay taxes.
