The rain and the bad weather didn’t interrupted the Torino Jazz Festival, from Friday, April 27th to Tuesday, May 1, six days with jazz as the absolute protagonist. It all started on Friday at 6 pm, with concerts, obviously jazz, in Piazza Castello and Piazza Valdo Fusi, continuing with live jazz nigths at the “
Jazz Club” and in other clubs in the city, among which the famous Murazzi on the banks of the river Po. The concert in Piazza Valdo Fusi on May 27th has been amazing. Everything seemed in place, a spring breeze, the musicians on stage, the audience, the grass invaded by an attentive and silent crowd. Who played wonderfully were the “Buena vista italian jazz” quintet composed by Franco Cerri playing guitar, Renato Sellani at the piano, Dino Piana, trombonist, Luciano Milanese on bass and Gianni Cazzola on drums. Franco Cerri, whom we had the honor of shaking hands, is a man of great humility and kindness. Not only concerts, but also as a wild dancing Saturday night at the “Jazz Club”. ’30s and ’40s music, retro atmosphere and couple dancing. A special night, different from the usual, able to revive that seeming carelessness that makes those years so fascinating.
