Distorsion Identitaire by Jenn’ Gauthier

I am absolutely mesmerized by these photo manipulations. Inspired by the notion of lost identity, French art student Jenn’ Gauthier created these pieces only using Photoshop. The artist’s observation is that by viewing all of the fragments, the person’s identity is totally lost. It should be noted that the artist is using a pseudonym, a type of recreated identity. The artwork is interesting contrast to commonly seen retouched photos of models and actresses. Those retouched photos try to make the person in the image look more polished, more perfect. These images are dissected. They’re disruptive and wild, and yet somehow feel perfect in their own way.
