The designers of which I speak usually have some common characteristics: they are almost all young emerging talents, and are often living in London. The charm of the British capital is undeniable, and it’s definitely fertile ground for creativity to flourish. Even Charlie May, originary from the South of England, now lives and works in London, where she daily update us on her life through her blog “
Girl a la mode“, opened in 2008, years before beginning her designing work. I must admit I appreciate her work as it emerges through the spontaneous images of her blog, even more than through the glossy lookbooks. In any case, the fall/winter 2012 collection, the second made so far, is minimalism at its purest level, where is the shape of the garments to catch the eye, with asymmetries and deep slits as major elements. Among all the looks, those my absolute favorite are the total white ones, capable of giving an androgynous and austere touch, being at the same time poetic.
