Serena Poletto Ghella, born in Canada and now based in Turin, is a creative always on the move. Her curriculum is constantly alternating between fashion, design and cool hunting, but in the end the love for fashion, particularly on the “social” effects that come from fashion, will win her. She calls herself “intellectually compulsive”, she organizes re-fashion courses, works with local magazines, maintains a blog with the photographer Paolo Patrito. And yet, in 2011 began working on a line of clothing designed and produced by her, which she calls “
serenapolettoghella“, her name, with no spaces or capital letters: just her, without artifice. In the spring/summer 2013 collection, called Aldo ALdomani, typically retro cuts that recall the ’60s and ’70s are combined with a modernity made of bright colors, bold shapes and sculptural details. A set of dresses (pants are banned) for a woman who looks at the past with both feet firmly in the present and thinking forward to the future.
