The best kind of fashion statement is one you can feel as good about wearing as you do supporting it. That’s why we’re excited to share with you this line of scarves from
A Peace Treaty. Conceived in 2008 by Farah Malik and Dana Arbib, A Peace Treaty aims to increase awareness for traditional crafts that are becoming a lost art, focusing on handcrafted goods from areas typically seen in a negative light. Each season, their collections come from villages in regions across the globe. Here, A Peace Treaty is able to provide employment for craftspeople to bring trade back into the local economies and create opportunities for out-of-work artisans, disabled and widowed women. For their newest collection, called Safar, the pair were inspired by “dusty travellers” – nomadic Berber tribes in the northern hemisphere and South American gaucho. Sumptuous woven scarves for both men and women, these colorful creations would feel at home trekking through the Andes or chicly draped over your shoulders for a stroll on the streets of New York.
