We live in an age of consumerism, where what we buy is used for a short time and then discarded. This has devastating effects on both people’s lifestyle and, especially, on the environment. PackYourself, created by British designer Aspar Karahyuseinov, is a project that seeks to improve and make sustainable the production in one of the fields that are most affected by the phenomenon of mass consumption: fashion. A multi-functional dress, inspired by design and in particular packaging, minimal, designed in a universal and unisex size. A solution that doesn’t neglect the aspects of sustainability in all phases. First, the design, because with only one garment you can create a variety of solutions, avoiding the purchase of various items. But even the use of biodegradable, recyclable, organic and locally produced materials, produced with a low-impact technology. The prototype you see in the images was made with corn starch polyester and cotton.
